Bruce M. Plaxen Elected to Executive Committee of the American Association for Justice
Plaxen Adler Muncy is proud to announce that senior partner Bruce Plaxen was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of The American Association for Justice, or AAJ at the annual convention of Trial Lawyers held in Montreal, Canada this year. Bruce has been deeply involved with AAJ for many years. Bruce has served as chairman of various AAJ committees and currently serves as chairman of the Organizational Review Committee, which is responsible for all AAJ by-laws. Each State is entitled to at least two governors or two representatives to serve on the International AAJ Board of Governors and Bruce Plaxen has been representing Maryland on the AAJ Board of Governors since 2002. He currently is the Senior Governor from Maryland. This most recent election is the fifth time Bruce Plaxen has been chosen to serve on the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee consists of 19 lawyers from around the country that work together to promote the goals of the American Association for Justice. The committee includes the 6 officers of the American Association for Justice, appointees of the current president and other representatives as well as 5 members elected at large by the entire Board of Governors. Bruce Plaxen was elected by his peers and fellow members of the Board of Governors to serve as an at large governor on the Executive Committee.
What is the American Association for Justice?
The AAJ started with a group of nine workers’ compensation attorneys in 1946. The original goal was to formulate a strategy and a plan for a national organization to combat threats facing trial lawyers across the country. Today, the American Association for Justice is the world’s largest trial bar. Its mission is “to promote a fair and effective justice system—and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests.”
AAJ remains the only national lawyers association made up of plaintiff’s, lawyers and trial attorneys that work together as advocates for their clients on a broad range of issues to defend the Civil Justice System. AAJ is the leading voice in Congress on consumer issues and the Civil Justice System. AAJ serves an important and vital role in protecting clients’ rights when their rights are attacked by insurance, drug and oil industries as well as other large corporations.
There is no doubt that our water and air are cleaner, patient care is better and cars and other products are safer today thanks to the Trial Lawyers who stood up to big corporations and held them accountable in court. At Plaxen Adler Muncy, we are incredibly proud to represent those injured by greedy corporations and negligent defendants.
According to Bruce Plaxen, “Working with the best and brightest attorneys from around the country is both energizing and inspiring. I am proud to count many of my best friends as fellow Trial Lawyers.”
All of us at Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. are proud of the work that Senior Partner, Bruce Plaxen does every day, on behalf of the American Association for Justice and on behalf of our clients. We offer well-earned congratulations to Bruce.
