SSD v. SSI

There are two disability programs that you may be entitled to. The first is Social Security Disability, which is based on your earnings record; what you’ve paid into the system through payroll taxes while you’re working. The second is SSI, which is a needs-based program for people that don’t necessarily qualify for Social Security Disability because they haven’t worked enough, but because they have under a certain amount of income and assets, they do qualify for SSI. Often times, people are eligible for both depending on their circumstances.

What we do is look into their circumstances, and determine whether they should apply to one or both of those programs, so they can maximize the benefits they’re entitled to because they’re disabled.

If you are unable to work because of a disability, you may be entitled to Disability benefits or Supplemental Security Income. Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. is the firm you can trust to help you obtain those benefits, and to represent you in front of an administrative law judge, the Appeals Council or a federal court of your claim has previously been denied.
