Meet Ebosetale V. Okojie, Plaxen Adler Muncy’s Newest Associate
Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. welcomes Ebosetale V. Okojie to our team. Ebi grew up in the Maryland and Washington, DC area. She is smart, driven, empathetic to our clients, and dedicated to helping people that need our help.
Before joining Plaxen Adler Muncy, Ebi worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Baltimore County. She decided to make the switch from criminal law to civil justice because she wanted to take a more hands-on and personal approach when it comes to client advocacy. Ebi loves the challenges that come with handling civil claims. We look forward to mentoring her and watching her grow as a lawyer. We are proud to be a part of this experience with her.
The beginnings of a civil justice advocate
Ebi grew up in a home that emphasized the importance of giving back, and of taking advantage of the opportunities she was given. She is the oldest of four children, born to Nigerian immigrants who came here in their 20s to make a better life for themselves. Her mother was a nurse, her father is a pharmacist, and Ebi herself thought about becoming a doctor when she was a small girl. But then, one day in the third grade, her teacher taught a lesson on Brown vs. Board of Education. That day, Ebi realized that standing up for what was right could have a real, meaningful and tangible impact on people’s lives.
That was when Ebi decided she wanted to go to law school. She attended Duke University School of Law, where she thrived. She served on the Executive Board of the Duke Journal for International and Comparative Law, and as the President of the Black Law Students Association. She credits her experiences at Duke in helping her understand the importance of real leadership.
Helping others whenever possible
Ebi is a die-hard Blue Devils fan (this March Madness season has not been easy on her, she admits), and loves to travel. She spends much of her free time volunteering as a mentor to young women, and is a leader at her local church, working to build compassion within the community and outside of it, so that everyone will feel welcome and a part of something bigger than themselves.
Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. is proud to have such an accomplished, confident and dedicated young attorney on our team. We welcome Ebi, and are happy she has chosen to join us in our mission to fight for justice on behalf of the people in Maryland.
